Privacy Policy

ToolTracked ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ToolTracked mobile application and the website at tooltracked.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the name you provide. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email associated with that account. We also store your selected currency preference.

When you use the camera feature, ToolTracked captures a photo of the tool you are scanning. That photo is sent to Google's Gemini API for identification. The photo is also stored in your private storage bucket so it appears in your inventory. We do not share your photos with any other third party.

Your tool inventory data — including tool names, brands, models, serial numbers, locations, and estimated values — is stored in our database and associated with your account. This data is only accessible to you.

If you subscribe to ToolTracked Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but we do not store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.

We do not collect precise geolocation data. The "location" feature in the app refers to user-defined labels (such as "Work Truck" or "Home Shop"), not GPS coordinates.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the app: to authenticate your account, display your tool inventory, generate insurance reports, process subscription payments, and send the camera image to Google Gemini for tool identification. We use your currency preference to display valuations in your local currency.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your tool inventory or photos with other users.

Third-party services

ToolTracked relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) — hosted in the cloud, handles your account data and tool inventory. Google Gemini API — receives tool photos for AI identification; photos are processed and not retained by Google beyond the API request. Stripe — processes subscription payments for Pro users.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security enabled, meaning each user can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

You can view, edit, or delete any tool in your inventory at any time through the app. You can delete your account by contacting us at support@tooltracked.com, and we will remove all associated data from our systems.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Canada, you have additional rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data.

Camera and photo access

ToolTracked requests camera access solely to photograph tools for identification. Photos are used for AI identification via Google Gemini and stored in your private inventory. You can deny camera access and still use the app by adding tools manually.

Children's privacy

ToolTracked is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
